Cross Deep

The existing house is on a prominent riverside location set on a sloping site with fantastic views over the Thames. The original house was small with limited accommodation on all levels and with little visual connection to the gardens and river.

Our design adds a 2 storey side extension for a garage, utility room on the ground floor and an additional bedroom to the first floor. The ground floor was completely opened up to provide a large family room and kitchen, with sliding glass doors and large terracing. The new design takes full advantage of the site.

The new design transforms the property and provides spectacular views over the river. Due to orientation, we engineered built-in automatic retractable sun shades over all the doors and added black-out blinds to all windows and roof glazing.

The works to the river front included sheet piling and reinforcing the old river wall which had failed due to many years of erosion.
