Feasibility & design development

• We collaborate with specialists and contractors so the feasibility of your project can be determined at the most important time, early on in the design process.

Planning & other statutory applications:

• Our reputation for delivering successful outcomes on complex sites subject to planning constraints is impressive.
• The studio can advise on all matters relating to planning and Building Control compliance, including listed buildings and properties in conservation areas.
• All the drawings and documents you will need for statutory applications can be prepared. When required, we work closely with planning and other consultants to prepare specialist reports.

Tenders & contract administration:

• All details and specifications necessary for tender and construction can be prepared by the studio. We also collaborate with other consultants to prepare details of structure or specialist installations when required.
• We can advise you on the best procurement options and can tender your project or negotiate on your behalf direct with chosen contractors.

Environmental Design

• Good design must be sustainable and responsible. We have expertise in Passivhaus design and construction techniques and can advise you on how these can be integrated into new build projects.
• Energy efficiency and thermal comfort can be improved using passive measures. We are fully conversant with passive design techniques that tackle problems of shading and comfort at the earliest design stage, thereby reducing reliance on active mechanical systems.
• Our studio can help you to adapt your home to be energy efficient and can advise on the installation of photovoltaics, heat recovery systems (MVHR), air source and ground source heat pumps.
• The materials used for construction have embodied energy which affect the carbon footprint of your project. We can help you to assess the performance of materials at the design stage and decide on alternatives when practical.
